International Lighthouse Weekend celebrates the historic importance of lighthouses and radio operators world-wide, with more than 400 entrants expected around the globe. Geelong Amateur Radio Club will be broadcasting from Point Lonsdale during the weekend.
Volunteers from Queenscliffe Maritime Museum will run tours to the top of Point Lonsdale Lighthouse from 9:30am until 3:00pm on both days. Tours take half an hour with a maximum of eight people per half hour. Children must be at least five years old (and 95 centimetres high) to be admitted to tour. All visitors should wear solid or strap-on footwear to climb to the top - safety conditions apply. Bookings are essential - please contact the organiser by telephone to book your place.
